The hotel

The comfortable rooms in the Hotel are well equipped, with subtle colour combinations and fine furniture, warm and tasteful. Each room has its own television, ISDN connection, direct dial telephone, alarm clock, radio, en-suite bathroom with bath and/or shower and toilet. You can use (free) our wireless internet facilities) in the whole hotel and even on the terraces.

The restaurant

The stylish and cosy restaurant is well known in the region and is highly recommended by the Dutch Tourist Board. It has the right atmosphere for an intimate evening but also for a good business conversation. Opening times:
Every day for diner: 17.00h - 21.00h Lunches (on reservation): 12.00h - 14.00h
The menu changes frequently with the seasons. Every week we have the Herberg Menu, a multiple-choice menu

The lounge

Our quests like to stay in the lounge and enjoy pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap at the open fire.

Alternatively just relax with a good book from the bookcases, which adorn the walls in the corridors of the hotel. The lounge makes people feel at home, especially on cold, chilly dark evenings.

Whisky adventure.

Those who like whisky can make their own choice out of about 150 different whiskies (all Scottish). No other Dutch hotel has such a huge collection.
Members of “Friends of the White Horse Club” can save their own very exclusive bottle for special occasions in the locked club cabinet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The surroundings

In the environment of the hotel you will find beautiful small villages, old churches, museums, magnificent nature, views and horizons, bird watching possibilities etcetera. Very near to the hotel you can visit the Lake of Leek and make canoeing-tours or walk through the Nienoord-parc. There you can also visit the national coach-museum.
From the hotel you can make several cycling-tours, like the Nienoord-, the Abel Tasman- and the "Meren en maden"-tour. In the historic university town Groningen you can spend days visiting museums (like the world famous Groninger Museum), historic buildings (like the Martini-tower) or just nosing around and shopping (ask our shopping guide, that brings you to the most remarkable shops in Groningen). This is the way to find all ingredients for an unforgettable stay in and round our Het Witte Paard.
